HEAT IN TARANAKI
SERIOUS EFFECT ON PIGS. (FBOM Omi OWS CORBESPONDBHT.) WAUGANUI, January 25. Tho weather during the past week has been intensely warm, and the heat has affected pigs considerably. A number are reported to have died in the South Taranaki district, and, in view of tho scarcity of porkers and the high prices at present being paid for them, the loss to the factories and to the owners is serious.
