" A Soul in Trust," a six-rccl Triangle masterpiece featuring tho popular screen artisto Miss Bell JV'iniett, is the principal attraction in tho current programme in the Queen's Theatre. The comedy element is supplied by Charlie Chaplin, whose antiw as usual are about tho bust word in absurdity. An interesting edition of tho Topical (lazette and the second episode of "The Fatal Ring " are strong supporting pictures. An altogether excellent bill is attracting largo attendances to the Plaza Theatre. The chief subject is " lluck and Tom," being tho further adventures Tom Sawyer, andi tho additional pictures*' on tho programme comprise an hilarious two-reel comedy featuring Fatty Arbucklo and an interesting Gazette. A western drama, " Tenderfoot," is being shown at Everybody's, and anyone who appreciates a stirring' story of excitement and action ought to sec it. There are, also a fresh instalment of "A Lass of the Lumbcrlands,'' a comedy, and a Topical Budget. MOSGIEL PICTURES. Tho principal film to bo shown at tho Mosgiel pictures to-night is entitled "The Woman Beneath," the leading part in which is taken by. Ethel Clayton. The supports will lend variety to tho programme, and will include a comedy, scenic, and Gazette. STUDENTS' RECITAL. 1 Mr Harold Browning's students will present their annual recital in Burns Hall on Thursday next, the proceeds to be allotted to tho Otago Copper Trail." The beautiful cantata "The Rose Maiden" is in active rehearsal, and gives promise of being a creditable performance. |Sir F. H. Cowen, tho composer of this important choral work, was bom at Kingston, Jamaica, in 1852, and successfully produced "The 'Rose Maiden" during his eighteenth year. Much might bo written regarding this eminent, composer, who to-day stands in the very forefront of British musical life. The box plan will open at the Bristol on Monday. "MOON PRINCESS." The delightful fairy opera, the "Moon Princess," which has been dramatised by Miss Ngio Marsh, of Christchurch, will be performed in Majesty's Theatre on tho 21st and 22nd 1 . The play will bo produced under the direction of Mrs J. L. Mortimer, and over 150 performers will take part. This performance promises to be quite novel ( and most spectacular. Tho main part will' bo _ taken by Mrs Mortimer, v/ho will be assisted by several of Dupedin's best amateur and juvenile performers. Tho spectacle should bo a most interesting one, and . tho public are assured of witnessing a high-, class performance. CHILDREN'S HOME CONCERT. Tho annual concert, arranged by the Young Women's Biblo Classes of Dunodin and suburbs, in aid'of the Glendining Children's Home and Orphanage, will be held on Tuesday, November 5, in Burns Hall, when once again a very attractive, and pleasing programme will be given. As in former years, the chikh-on themselves, numbering some 78, will take tho first part, the " wee tots" presenting a fairy play "Tho Little One," their natural and pleasing rendering of fairy goblins and gnomes being sure to win tho approval and sympathy of all. The old familiar favourite " Goldilocks and the Three Bears" will revive many memories, and the story as portrayed by the children will be followed with keen interest and enjoyment. ,'lho second part consists of several splendid items by the various members of the classes, including a scene from "Mrs Wiggs of the Cabbage Patch." lickets are obtainable from Messrs R. J. Stark and the Bible Depot, and intending patrons arc advised to secure their tickets early and so avoid disappointment. Apart from tho excellence of tho programme, the worthy object of the concert should ensure a bumper house.
