DUNEDIN STOCpr EXCHANGE. I here has been a. good turnover on the local share market during the week, the prices generally continuing firm. Mount Lyell mining shares, however, have dropped from £1 lis to £1 9s 6d, which may be auc to the possibility of labour troubles in Tasmania, .whore the miners are asking for largely increased wages. There was business in this line during the week at £! 9 s 6d, £1 9s Bd, aud £l 8s Bd. Waihis and Waihi Grand Junctions continue firm. They were in demand yesterday at £2 0s 6d and 14s lid respectively, but there were no ] sellers. Grand Junctions have had numerous sales at 14s 3d, 14s 7d, and 14s 6d. There has been practically no change in the price of Talisman Consolidated shares. In the dredging market Electrics have been wanted up to Is 9d, and Rise and Shines_ up to 15s, but there have been no sellers in either case. The only business in banking stocks has been a reported sale of National Banks at £6 14s. Buyers of Bank of New Zealand shares are still offering £13 6s and £18 ss, for the old and new issues respectively. Union Banks have had buyers up to £58 10s. P. and O. deferred stock was on offer yesterday at £400. The latest cabled London price is £435. Huddart-Parkers wero tlio means of business on Tuesday at prices ranging from £2 2s to £2 2s 9d. Thcro "was a sale at £2 yesterday, and the shares were on offer at £2 Is. Westport Coals have been in firm demand at £1 lis, and were sought yesterday at £1 lis 4d, with a seller at £1 12s 3d. West-port-Stocktons have been on the market at 9s, without result. Insurance shares havo not received a great deal of attention. New Zealand Insurance shares are worth about £10 10s; and South British Insurances were oa offer on Tuesday at £6 19s. When the market closed yesterday there was a buyer of Standard shares at £2 ss, and of Nationals at £3 6s 6d. The latter have ji firm tone. A few other lines, generally quoted, have remained firm, and woollen company shares havo also been in firm demand, but no business has been recorded. There has been a good deal of activity in New Zealand Paper Mill shares, which havo had business on several occasions at £1 3s, and another sale was transacted vesterday at the same price. Sugar of Milk shares had a sale early in the week at £1 16s. Wilson's Cements have firmed to 16s 4d and 16s 9d, buyers and sellers respectively.
