The conference of Tramway Union representatives and City Council officials con * dered the men's demands. The counei made certain proposals, which, it is under- '' stood, include better terms than • those already published; but the men's representatives decline to accept them, holding out for a minimum wage of Is 4d per hour, with proportionate increases to the higherpaid men Ths offer remains open till 3 o clock this afternoon. The Tramwaymen's Union Executive last night endorsed the action of its repreeentai- ■ t ' lo conference with tho council. [; o officials and men will continue to refuse '> to work overtime.
