JOURNALISTIC MISSION TO BRITAIN
0 MINISTRY OF INFORMATION'S ; INVITATION. f NEWSPAPER PROPRIETORS TO CONSIDER. 1 (Pbb United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, May 24. Tho Acting Prime Minister has received the following cable message from the High Commissioner The Ministry of Infor•J mation has invited a mission of five editors or owners from the press of New Zealand to visit Great Britain and the western front as guests of the Ministry. They state that tho selection is left entirely in mv (our) hands, by which I take it they mean the New Zealand Government. They particularly desire the mission to be composed of men belonging to the highest standing in the New Zealand newspaper profession, and, if practicable, all sections to bo reprc- ; sented. The trip in Great Britain and Franqe will occupy a period of four weeks. 5 It is suggested that they should leave at once. The Ministry will pay all expenses. Please inform me as soon as possible what ' arrangements have been made, and the j names of those constituting the mission." 3 Sir James Allen communicated with Mr . , Selig, president of the Newspaper Proprier 'tors' Association, who suggested that the j matter be put before the executive of tho s association, to which course tho Minister j agreed. A meeting of the executive is to . he summoned for Tuesday next.
