VOLUNTARY RECRUITS. One voluntary recruit—John Steele Turnbull, baker, of Mosgiel—enlisted at Kensington on Monday uight, and was passed by tho doctors. OTAGO WOMEN'S ASSOCIATION. Work is going on steadily in the Early Settlers' Hall. Dominion parcels aro being packed, and workers will be welcome during tho next few days. There is no doubt that the p'arcels are distributed to the New Zealand soldiers, even _in the front trenches. The hon. secretary will be pleased to show letters of acknowledgment to anybody who is interested and who will call at the Early Settlers' Hall. Donations have been received from the following:—

N.E. VALLEY WOMEN'S ASSOCIATION.
The following is the list of work completed during the last fortnight :—For Early Settlers' Hall—32 pairs socks, 12 balaclavas, 39 housowifes, 168 service bags, 12 shirts, 1 suit pyjamas, also 3 pairs socks and 5 towels from the pupils of Upper Junction School. For Red Cross Rooms—2doz pairs ward slippers. Donations wore received from Mrs W. Strain, Mrs Fletcher, and Mrs Bailey. Thanks arc due to Mr Trevor Stedman and party for a donation of £13 8s to the funds resulting from an entertainment. The committee also acknowledges donations sent to the stall on Bed Cross Day.
MIDDLEMARCH PATRIOTIC ASSOCIATION. The executive extends thanks for donations to the Strath-Taieri Collie Club, Mr W. Penrose. Miss Balk, StrathTaieri Caledonian Society, Adjutant Wilson, Mrs A. M'Kinnon, Miss M'Bride; and for work to Mesdamos R. Beattie, Miller, J. Thompson, Coekerell, Guy, M'Phee. Jolinetonc, W. Elliott, Ross, Devon, J. Elliot, Turr.bull, sen. R. N. Elliott, Misses M'Phee, Stewart, Turnbull, and M'Outchoon. Tho appeal concert realised £34 18s, and tho society decided to increase this to £50 to forward to the Red Cross. A case of goods comprising 60 pairs ward slippers 21 eye bandages, 4 pairs bed socks, 5 suits pvjamas, 6 bandages, 176 swabs, and 17 suirts were sent to the Red Cross, and a ease containing, 107 dominion bag?, 3 towels, 4 balaclavas, 24 day shirts, 3 pairs cuffs, 30 handkerchiefs, and old linen was sent to the Early Settlers' Hall. The Anzac class is thanked for 167 swabs. 4 pair bed socks, 5 suits pyjamas, 13 day shirts, 6 pairs cuffs, 23 pairs socks, 31 domih'on bngv 4 balaclavas, 21 eye bandages, Z0 handkerchiefs.
