On Thursday evening Messrs J. and N laits New Musical Comedy Company will present at His Majesty's Theatre the latest American success, " Very Good Eddie" which ran for 12 months in New York The recent season of 10 weeks at the Palace Theatre, Sydney, broko all records for musical comedy. The story of Very Good Eddie is based on the farce "Ovfcr Might, ' and it is said that the piece abounds with clever comedy, haunting melodies and original ballets. The adventures of' two newlyweds on their honeymoon provide much amusement, as by the same boat they are travelling pn another honeymoon couple are also passengers, and by misfortune one wife and ono husband are left on the wharf and the wrong husband and wife sail away. Fro the sake of appearances they decide to pose as a properly matched pair, and the complications which follow .are said to be very funny. As Eddie Barry Lupino is credited with a very clever stttdy of a helpless little husband dominated by a stalwart wife, and his songs and dances have earned him much praise in Australia and New Zealand. Although there are over 60 members in the company there is strictly no chorus, as each individual has a part which is essential to the plot. A ■four nights' season will be played in Dunedin. The box plans are now on view at the Bristol, and as the booking is exceptionally heavy, intending patrons aro advised to reserve their seats without delay.
