The Kamona is at present at Greymouth loading coal for Wellington. The.Kowhai. whioh arrived at Greymouth early cxn Saturday from Onehunga was to load coal . for Wellington. Tho Kahika is expected to leave Port Chalmers to-day for Timaru, Wellington, Greymouth, and Dunedin. The Kakapo was expected to leave Westport on Saturday for Dunedin. > The Kokiri is on her way from th'e West Ooast with a cargo of coal for Lyttelton. After discharging she will return to Greymoutn for rioal for Wellington. The Kotare reached Dunedin from Catlins Kiver on Saturday, and is expected to eail to-day for Bluff and Invercargill. ■'■ ' » GERMAN SHIPPING. A report from Washington (says an Aus-' trahan states that Germany is v engaged on, a treinendous prograinme of \ merchant ship-building. A great iieet ol big steel merchantmen designed to take the place of vessel* lost in the war and to give . Germany a superior position in ocean transportation after the war is under construction. Many vessels have been launched and others are on the way. One hundred and twenty-five thousand tons of merchant ships are building at Hamburg at tho Vulcan works and at Flensburg. At Hamburg the Germans are building the steamship Bismarck, of 56,000 tons. This is 50U0 tons bigger than the Vaterland. There is also building at Hamburg the Tirpitz, a vessel of 20,000 tons. Nine others are" on •the ways at the Vulcan works and three on the ways at Flensburg.
