"VERY GOOD EDDIE"
The introduction by Messrs J. and N. Taft of their Now Musical Comedy Company is creating considerable interest, and judging by the high rnent of the firm's previous attractions, this venture may bo -expected to reach their usual high standard. This company, which commenced its tour of the dominion in Auckland, and has inert with the greatest success, was specially selected bv Mr E. J. Tait during his recent tour of America, and the very best artists were socured as principals, and the oompany, with three cxcoptions, ig composed of entirely new artists to this country. Tho principal comedian, Mr Barry Lnpino, was induced to cancel his American contracts in order to accept engagement with Messrs J. and N. Tait, and it is safe to say that his reappearance will be very ■welcome. Another favourite is Mr Andrew Hiapginson, whose delightful performance of Danilo in "The Merry Widow" will, no doubt, be remembered by playgoers. Misa Fayette Perry and Miss Lilian Tucker are both artists of the highest repute in America, and in Australia made an instantaneous success. The company's first production is "Very Good Eddie," which is described as on© the smartest of all musical comedies, and the four nights' season will be devoted to that piece. It is _ claimed for "Very Good Eddie" that, m addition to a bright story, the whole piece abounds with clever comedy, melodious numbers, original ballets, and the stage setting and dressing are on a lavish scale. The brief season will oommenco at rus Majesty's Theatre on Thursday next and the box plans of reserved seats are now open at the Bristol.
