ACCIDENTS.

MARTON, August 22. A middle-aged man named Alexander William Roberts, an ex-prison warder and recently on active service, fell off the Auckland express on arrival at Marton Junction this evening, receiving severe injuries, which necessitated his removal to the Wanganui Hospital. He is still unconscious. A man named Caleb Ripson, a resident of Catlins, was admitted to the Hospital last evening suffering from internal injuries. He was felling a tree, and was struck and pinned by a limb as it came to earth. Clcragh Blundell,. a medical studont, captain of the Otago University Football Club was brought into the Hospital from Milton by the express last evening, having had some of his ribs broken while playing football. Tho young man Hayes, who was badly hurt while playing for tho Southern Club against tho University on Saturday, and had to be taken to the Hospital, is reported to be making satisfactory progress towards recovery.
