Kilbov and Sasanof were bracketed. When the field raced to the course proper Desert Gold was throe lengths ahead of The Toff and Kilboy, bnt at the half mile post Kilboy was with the mare. There was an excellent attendance for the concluding day of the Sonth Canterbury Jockev Club's autumn meeting, but the special trains from Dunedin and Christchurch were poorly patronised. The card provided some very interesting racing, and close and exciting finishes were- of frequent occurrence. During the day £11,968 10s went throngh the totalisator, making £21,653 10s for the meeting, as against £25,589 registered at last season's autumn meetipg. Golden Rupee was just in front of Peerless and Glenthorpe at the last fence, with Master Hamilton close up. In a good finish home Golden Rupee won bv a short neck from Peerless, who beat Glenthorpe over a length, with Master Hamilton a length away. Time, 2min 43 l-ssec. .
