- " LONDON, December 7. r The death is reported, at Bayreuth (Bavaria), of Herr Hans Richter, Mus. Doc. 1 [Dr Hans Richter was born at. Raab, in Hungary, in April, 1843. In 1875 ho assumed the direction of the Court Opera 'Theatre in Vienna, and next year directed ■ the Bayreuth Festival. He was intimately ' WMinected with Wagner, and 'directed the ' production of more than one of his operas. In 1879 he proceeded to London, where he successfully conducted a series of orchestral concerts, in some of which he was associated with Wagner. He was created a doctor of music by the University of Oxford in 1886J LADY TENNYSON. The Times. LONDON, December 8. (Received Dec. 8, at 10.55 p.m.) i 'The death is reported of Lady Tennyson, from pneumonia, which occurred at the Isle of Wight.
