SYDNEY, December 8. In the Assembly the Totalisator Bill ■was read a first time.

The Liquor Amendment Bill, which has received the Governor's assent, provides for tie absolute dosing of hotels on Christmas Day and Good Friday, and the prohibition of the sale of soft drinks after six o'clock.
