FEEBLE-MINDED CHILDREN
NEED FOR SPECIAL TREATMENT.
(Peb Un'tfd Press Association.) WELLINGTON, August. 24. The Hon. Mr Ilanan (Minister of Education) stated to day that the medical inspection of school children was bringing to light a number of pituiblc cases ot foebleniuided children for whom bciter provision than at present existed "was required. In one district lately inspected a family of 12 childien was found, all of whom were moie or less feeble-minded. The matter ought to be dealt with m a thorough and comprehensive minner, but fi ,- st it was nooessaty to asceitain how many such eases there weie in the dominion requiting special treatment in institutions.
