ARCTIC EXPLORATION
THE CROCKERLAND EXPEDITION.
AN OFFICER'S SAFE ARRIVAL.
Prefs Association —By Telegraph—Copyright,
Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. WASHINGTON, August 23. The United States Government has received word of the safe arrival at Copenhagen of Captain Fritz Hugh Green, an American naval officer on the Crockerland Expedition, which left in 1913. Captain Green's report makes no references to the existence of Crockerland, which Captain Peary believed he discovered. He does not mention whether M'Millan and others of the party are with him. The party were several times threatened with starvation. In consequence of Captain Fritz Hugh Green's report not confirming the discovery of Crockerland, a section of Congress is urging the investigation of Captain Peary's claims, but investigation is considered unlikely.
