DUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE. ,■ ' There has not been a great deal of business passing On 'Change during tho past week, but a feature o£ tho market has boon the hardening of a number of investment lines. _ Dredging- stocks attract hardly any attention. For .Rise and Slhines £1 6s is offered, and Rising Suns aro to bo had for £jL 7s 6d'. There has been a buyer of ordinary Olrigs at 9d. In mining stocks Talismans are a shade weaker. Yesterday 10s 9d was tho best buying offer, and sellers wore quoting Us 6d. Waihis are olitered at £1 16s 9d, with buyers up to £1 16s 3d. Grand Junctions were wanted at 18s 9d yesterday, but holders asked 6d more. In investment stocks there is a steady demand for Bank of Australasias at £114, but there are none offering. National Banks aire I sought after at up to £5 3s 6d. Bank of ! New Zealands have hardened perceptibly, i £10 17s being offered for the old iasuo and £17 for the new. Tho old issue, were to bo had at £11 2s 6d yesterday. Buyers of Union Banks have advanced to £53 15s, but there are no shares offering below £55. Standard Insurances are on the market at £2, buyers offering 2s less. Union Steams have boon responsible for the bulk of the business passing on 'Change, and they show a further remarkable advance. On Wednesday they changed hands at £1 12s 6d and £1 12s 9d, on Thursday at £1 13s, and yesterday the prices they brought wexe £1 13s 3d and £1 13s 6d. Tho market closed with more offering at £1 13s 6d, and buyers quoting £1 13s 4d. Westport Stocktons were sold last Saturday at 5s 2d, and more are now wanted at the same price, with "sellers at 5s 6d. Westport Coals remain steady, buyers and sellers quoting £1 9s 6d and £1 10s respectively. Dominion Rubbers seem to be somewhat neglected, and are wanted at £1 lis 6d. A sale of Milburn Limes was reported on Thursday at £1 14s •6d, at which prioc there had been a buyer the previous day. Business was dono in Mosgiel Woollens last Saturday at £3 16s 6d, and they have since been offered at £3 17s. Paper Mills are among tho stocks that have been hardening, and there is a regular for them at 19s 6d. They were offered yesterday morning at £1. Whitcombe and Tombs aio wanted at £6 ss, There is a buyer of ordinary Wright, Sltephensons at £8, and tho preference issue are offered at £5.
