" Pears' Annual" has reached its twentyfifth anniversary with its issue for 1915. The number provides an interesting collection of literary and artistic items. Stories are contributed by Max Pemberton, W. L. Genge, Barry Pain, J. J. Bell, and C. J. Cutoliffo Hyuo, whose names alone are a guarantee of their quaEty. Four coloured pages illustrative of old Xmas carols represent the work respectively of H. M. Brock. Cyrus Cuneo, John Hassall, and Frank Dodd, and various presentation plates accompany the Annual, chief among them being a mezzogravure entitled " The Beauty of the Glade," by A. Dempier May,
