AVOIDABLE MOTOR ACCIDENTS.
TO THE EDITOIt. Sir,—lt is very necci-Gary that motorists should realise that carelessniss has boon increasingly exhibited of lato, but I think that many motorists who have tho use of their eyes are more blind in other ways than ono who was recently fined. I have myself seen many oases which might havo ended fatally either to myself or others. Altogether. I hear on the average of two or three such esses per woek, generally due to carelees driving or to reek Ires driving at corners. As some motorists, and horse drivers as well, will persist in abusing their rights, would it not be well if thoeo who exorcise the proper measure of control, and other users of the road, were to tako tho names or numbers of all vehicles that are being driven in a dangerous manner, and repen-t them to the police. That might wake tho drivers up to tho facts of tho cane. I rlo not suggest that tho five or ten miles speed limit should bo enforced everywhere, but some people always try to drive faster round corners than anywhere else, and thi<3 should bo Rto---cd. I m.av say that such drivers would not bo allowed to drive in big cities—l am. etc.. Motorist.
