GIFTS FOB SOLDIERS. The Ladies' Committee of the Overseas Clob , are' congratulating themselves _ upon Saturday's takings in aid of the waistcoat and soldiers' gift fund, and are_ now busily engaged in preparing for exhibiting tho work they have been engaged in for some timo pest. In order to give the club memliers and the public generally an idea, of the splendid work carried on by these willing ■workers 'all -who can attend aro invited to the club room, Octagon Tea Rooms, on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., when the ladies will be present to receivo visitors. A gift box will be in evidence, not quito filled, and all who feel disposed may drop in a little parcel suitable for a Christmas present for our gallant boys in the. trenches.
