DRAINAGE BOARD REPORTS.
The following paragraphs are extracted from the committee reports to be submitted to the next meeting of tho Drainage Board:—
■ _ The Works Committee reports recommending that tho intake of Barron's Creek at Fojbury Corner be tapped to prevent nuisanCo complained of, at an estimated cost of £14. In regard to the question of expediting drams-in-common the committee has directed the engineer to transfer one of his staff from reticulating work to darainswill to some extent relieve the pressure. The number of house connection applications received for the fortnight ending May 2, 1915, was 110; plumbing work, 35; draining work, 81. Accounts amounting to £1552 12s 4d were examined and passed for payment. The Finance Committee reports that at a meeting held on May 7, the following business was transacted:—Accounts amounting to £1531 12s 4d, examined and passed by the Works Committee on May 5, 1915, were passed for payment, and cheques signed. Accounts amounting to £1955 2s lOd were examined, passed for payment, and cheques signed. That since tho last meeting of the committee the sum of £6185 10s 6d has been paid into the credit of the board's aggregate fund—this includes £5855 4s for debentures. Pass books were laid on the table showing an aggregate fund credit of £15,092 19s Bd.
