WAR TAXATION.
_ Sie,—Now that tho_ war tax is under consideration, will you ltindly allow mo to suggest- a policy, the acceptance of which thould; I believe, abolish taxation, foreign borrowine. ahd unemployment? Gold, as the basis of wealth, was chosen in a darker age than the present, and Liberals, Reformers, Labourites, Socialists, etc., beat the air in every possible wrong direction, and missed tho true foundation of tho disease, which is gold, for it is always, and ever will be, a premium for dishonesty and tr.ckery, running in uneven channels, "making vast accumulations, and promoting extreme poverty. Now, tho remedy is simple —viz., a State bank, with paper money issue based on tho resources of the dominion, made legal tender for all internal operations, should bring plentousnees to all people in thy; favoured land, and extension should follow until the world be absorbed.—l am, etc., W. FitzHbnbt. Linwood, March 19.
