THE NIAGARA DELAYED
SLIGHT MISHAP AT SEA. (Pee Umitkd Puses Associatioh.'i : AUCKLAND, March 22. The Niagara arrived at 10 o'clock this morning, several hours late. The delay was due to the centre propeller becoming useless on. Saturday evening through the shaft sinking a fraction of an inch in the stern bearings. The vessel made an average of 15 knots on the two remain- , ing propellers. On" arrival a dive^
< examined the shaft, but it has not yet ~ been decided whether the steamer shall be docked. Captain Rolls says'he can pro- ' ceed to Vancouver on two screws, the disabled screw, which is driven by a lowpressure turbine, being merely auxiliary.
