The vessel is duo at Wellington about February 28. En route from Liverpool to Australian _ ports, the Shaw-Savill liner Karamea, which 'left the Home port on December 19, is reported as having continued her journey from Capetown on the 15th inst. After discharging her cargo she will como to New Zealand to load, sailing finally some time in March.

Cable advices have been received in Sydney stating that the Commonwealth and Dominion liner Nerehana will leave London on February 17 for Melbourne, Sydney, and Newcastle. The Star of India will leave New York about the middle of next month for New Zealand ports, Sydney, and Brisbane, via Panama.

/Having completed repairs, and overhaul, i&e tug Plucky and the trawler Express -were floated out of dock yesterday morning. The Government cable steamer Tutanekai is expected to arrive this morning from Stewart Island, en route to Wellington. The C. and D. liner Mimiro, from New York, via northern sorts, is expected to arrive hero this morning to land the balance of her cargo.

After completing discharge of her cargo of coal, the Kauri will lay up for survey and overhaul, and will go into dock shortly for that purpose. Having completed: her annual survey and . a very comprehensive yearly overhaul, the Timaru Harbour Board's dredge Timaru left Port Chalmers yesterday afternoon for her home port. The Storm is expected' to arrive this morning from northern ports, and to sail this --afternoon on her return trip. Under charter to the New Zealand Shipping Company, the steamer Wirral arrived at Dunedin yesterday afternoon, and after cojnpleting her discharge she will fill up with wool for London. The Tarawera is due to-morrow forenoon from Auckland, via way ports, and is bringing southern passengers and transhipments "x Maheno, from Sydney. Tho Tarawera will sail on Tuesday for northern ports. The Corinna is clue to arrive this morning from Wellington direct, and, after working cargo, will sail this afternoon for Onehunga and New Plymouth, via tho usual way ports. The Kaiopoi arrived yesterday morning from Bluff, and berthed at the crocs wharf for tho purpose of landing 803 tons of Australian wheat before proceeding to Timaru and Lyttelton to discharge the balanco of her cargo. In consequence of several firemen having nverstaved their shore leave yesterday afternoon the Wrstmlia's departure was delayed until after 5 o'clock, when she loft for 'Auckland, via the usual East Coast nnrts. Shortly Wore midnight on Thursday a number of the men engaged working cargo on the Westralia finished on the latter vessel and transferred to the Breeze, which had been unablo to land her cargo owing to tho scarcity of wharf labour. As a result, tho Hreozo was enabled to get away about daylight for northern ports. Captain H. H. Williams has been placed m command of the Navua, and has the following officers associated with him:—Mr W. Lindsay (lato of tho Kauri), chief officer; Mr W. S. Hyslop (late of the Kiuuona), second officer; Mr I'. S. Macdonald (lato of tho Kaitangata) third officer. Captain D. Todd has rejoined tho.Tofua after enjoying a shore holiday. At the meeting of tho Lyttelton Harbour Board on Wednesday, the secretary presented a statement giving a comparison of tho dock dues payable at Auckland, Port Chalmers, and Lyttelton. The statement was lwsed on the assumption that the vessel occupied the dock for two days. Tho figures showed that tho local charges for vessels up to 1000 tons were lighter than were those ruling at either Port Chalmers or Auckland, and that whereas the local charges for vessels above 1200 tons and up to 7000 tons remained the same, the charges at Auckland and Otago were on a sliding scale for vessels of like tonnage. Thereforo it was suggested that the Lyttelton charges should be altered, and should bo from £55 for a vessel of from 2001 tons to 3000. up to £75 for a vessel of from 6001 to 7000 tons.

After an uneventful passage from London, via Capetown, the Shaw, Savill liner Corinthic berthed at Wellington Tuwscfny evening. She is expected to leave on Monday or Tuesday for Lyttelton to complete her discharge. Captain' Hart is still in command of tho Corinthic, and has the following officers associated with him:—Chief, Mill. L. Cater: first, Mr T. Richards; second, Mr J. H. Dray: third, Mr F. S. Hean ; fourth, Mr H. Clark; surgeon. Dr Taylor Sear. Mr G. M'Lellan is chief engineer, Mr H. A. Douglas second, Mr J. R. Ramsey third. Mr M. Jones fourth, Mr H. Owen fifth, and Mr R. Cable sixth.
