—— ■ *m» ■ WOODVILLE RACES. (P*» United vssooutiok.) WOODVILLE, February 19. Tho autumn meeting of tho Woodvill© Jockey Club was concluded to-day in fi/io weather. The attendance was again large, and speculation was brisk, the sum of £27,042 being put through the totalisator for tue two days, as against £24,173 for the corresponding meeting last year. After an exhaustive inquiry, R. Hatch, the rider of Alccto in the victoria Hack Handicap on tho first day, was disqualified for 12 months for pulling his mount. The owner *.nd trainer (D. Webster and F. Higgott) got tho benefit of the doubt. Results: —

6—Master Malachi, 9.0 -3 Also started: 4 Whimper, 3 Matlow, 5 Coronation. Stookado and Coronation led the field for half the distance, all the horsei jumping beautifully. At the back of tho course Waipaku took charge, and led all the way home, winning by a clear four lengths, with six lengths separating second and third. Time, 2m in 52sec. BALLANOE HACK HANDICAP. Seven furlongs. I—Mr M. Boyle's Lubriline, 9.5 (W. Young) 1 3—Alocto, 9.6 \ 2—To Houhou, 10.0 ••• - ■•• .3 Also started: 5 Pikitacpa, 6 Merry Jacjc, 7 General Madero, 8 Silver JTingle, 4 Ota""General Madero made the running until the entrance to the straight, where_ Alccto took charge, and looked like a winner a few yards from the post, but Lubriline shot out and pas&ed tho post with a length to tho good, half a length dividing second and third. Suratura was left when the barrier went up. In tho straight tho horses we-ro bunched. Braeburn was the first to show out, but immediately afterwards Byron challenged, and these two fought out a desperate finish, Byron gaining the verdict by half a length, with Tneze half a length .behind Braeburn. Time, lmin 57sec. SETTLERS' HACK HANDICAP. Six furlongs. 2—Mr A. Gfcodman'ss Reno, 8.2 (L. Wilson) 1 4—Arrahna, 7.1 2 I—Lady Vladimir, 8.0 3 Also started: 5 Hiwitapu, 6 Conziska, 8 Keynote, 5 Whisperer, 7 Mystcrium. From a bunched field Reno drew out in the straight and won comfortably by a couple of lengths, with half a length between second and third. Time, lmin 15sec. SHORTS HANDICAP. - 4—Mr D. Entering the straight Simple Sam was in command, and looked like winning, but Zeus, coming up fast on the outeidc, managed to score by half a length, with Evadno cio<?e up. Time, lmin 1 4-ssoc.
