(Received Feb. 19, at 11.50 p.m.) The annual statement of the Rhodes Scholarship Trust shows that the scholars' honours returns are good, and'nearly equal to those gained by the ordinary holders. In the open scholarship they gained five out of seven places, and first-class honours were gained in jurisprudence.

The Minister of War (Colonel Seely) says that the figures for January show a deficiency in the Territorials of 20 per cent.

The South-Eastern Railway Company is importing locomotives from Germany owing to pressure of orders in British works.
