COLLIE CLUBS' CHAMPIONSHIP.

An enthusiastic meeting of delegates from the several Collie Clubs in Otago was held in tho Excelsior Hotel, Dunedin, on Wednesday evening. Mr Alex. Scott (of the Taieri Club) was voted to the chair. In view of tho championship trials, to be held this year in tlie Taieri, the delegates met to draw up rules for the event. As a guide, the rules of the North' Island Sheep Dog Trials' Association were placed before tho meeting, and several suggestions as to rules were also introduced by delegates. After discussion it was decided tliat the Taieri Club have rules printed, and a copy forwarded to each club interested for their final approval.

It was decided that the programme shall include a huntaway class and a long pull. It was also decided that in the event of a dog being the property of more than one owner, either party will be allowed to run the dog; all dogs to bo the bona tide property of tho competitor or com-petitoi-6.

It was resolved that gate money be given to the club running the championship All surplus moneys.from tho championship events (except gate money) to be impounded into a separate account and handed over to the dub. holding the next championship trial. All clubs subscribing the first year are to have the first option to run the championship; trials to be balloted for All members of non-affiliated clubs to be charged extra entry fee.

It was decided that dogs up to the fourth place be eligible for tho championship. It was resolved that the meeting be run on the pere.entage basis:—so per cent to winner, 25 per cent, to second, 121 por cent to third, and 12£ per cent, to tho funds of the club running tho trials. In addition a money prize would be given, and a trophy of the value of about £5. Tho Taieri Club has promised a donation of £10 to this year's championship It was resolved that tho Taieri Club's secretary write to the other clubs for any subscriptions they are prepared to give— if they are not favourable to a sum cf £5 being promised. Tho delegates -were of the opinion that while some clubs were, perhaps, pot willing to donate £5, they might fool disposed to forward a lesser contribution.

The Taieri Club will meet in a few davs nnrl complete the rules required, immediately after which copies will be posted to the secretaries of all clubs interested.
