LONDON, January 30. (Received Jan. 30, at 10.10 p.m.) ; ' Some misconception has arisen regarding the Dominions Royal Commission's criticisms concerning the emigrant recruiting system. The report points out that Australasia ixercises supervision over the agents selecting State-aided immigrants, but the bulk of the Tecruiting agents in the United Kingdom are subjected to a mere semblance of authority bv the Board of Trade, shipping other classes of emigrants. CHEAPER CABLE RATES. ■ MELBOURNE, January 30. ' • (Received Jan. 30, at 9.50 p.m.) ■ The Postmaster-general, referring to the Dominions Commission's suggestion for Soaking more use of the Pacific cable, says -the more use the Pacific Board makes of ■week-end cables the better it will be for the Postal Department. They were already a great success, and if the cost was reduced they would be more widely used. The Pacific Board should advertise the caile more extensively.
