Mr J. Pattison, who has so successfully managed tho Dur.edin interests of Haywurd's Pictures, will relinquish the management of "The Octagon" next week in order to tako over the management of tho Coliseum at

Ghrietehurch. Mr W. Eraser, who has been the lirm's manager at Timaru for the past three or four years, will succeed Mr Pattison i;i Dunedin.

A "surprise party" was held at the National Jiank, Outram, on Monday afternoon, to bid farewell to Mrs F. G. Hartley before her departure for Stratford. On behalf of those present, Mrs James Patrick, in a eulogistic speech, presented Mrs Hartley with a lovely silver hot-water kettle and spirit lamp, and a case of afternoon cakeforks.
