THE WEATHER.
The heavy rain which set in at about 7 o'clock on Tuc»iay night continued practically without intermission till well on : nto yesterday morning, when it broke- up into intermittent showers. At 11 o'clock the win cleared off, but the- heavy south-west w.nd which continued till evening boro with ii a tasto of the coldness of winter. In fact, the weather during the past few days has been more suggestive of winter than of midsummer. From the commencement of the downfall till 9 a.m. yesterday over lin of rain fell. Little damage was done locally, though a lot of water is now lying on the flat. Contrary to expectations, the railway service was not in any way affected.
(From Our Own Correspondents.) BUSHEY PARK. December 3. The rainfall registered here for the 2+ hours ended 9 a-m. to-day was 27 points. The rain is from the south, and the weather is very cold, with no signs of improvement, LAUDER, December 3. The rainfall registered hero for t!;c 24 hours ended 9 a.m. to-day was 26 points. In November 362 points' fell. A misty rain is still fallin? to-day. HAWKDUN STATION, December 3. Tho rainfall registered hero for the 24 hours ended 7 a.m. to-day was 47 points.
