Mr Jackson adopted a report by 36 votes to 27 that he is in perfect general accord with Wesleyan doctrine, but evidently desired to Teatate in the light of modem knowledge the authority of Holy Scripture. Nevertheless, the committee regretted Mr Jackson's insufficientlyguarded and unhappily-expressed statements, which were liable to be miaunder- 5 stood.
