Tho O&ago Golf Club's championship was continued on the Balmacewen Links on Saturday, when the second round was played under very favourable weather conditions. As only eight remained in, it was anticipated that tho matches would all bo closo, but this proved to the contrary in three out of the four matches. Dr Ross (last year's runner-up) met J. R. Park (who recontly won the championship of Southland), and it was expected that the game would be keen, but Pa«rk surprised even Irs most ardent admirers by beating Ross »/ 6 up, and 5 to play. Andrew Todd beat Gale by 6 and 4, and again proved that he is a hard man to beat in a match. Basil Smith proved too strong for Wales, who was playing his first championship game, and last year's champion won by 6 and 5. Tho other game was much closer than tho rest Brasch coming out on top of R. J. Smith by 2 up. The second round of the Balmacewen Cup competition was also played with the following results:—E. A.
