SUPREME COURT SITTINGS.

{Pee United Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., March 6. Judgment was given in an important case in the Supreme Court this morning by, the Chief Justice. W. B. U. Pearce claimed from the Manawatu Drainage Board £500 damages in consequence of tie issue of a writ causing, certain drains on his property to be cleared and maintained ; also that the board be restrained from keeping the drains so as to be a nuisance or injurious to him. His Honor came to the conclusion that the plaintiff had not made 1 good his claim, and found for the defendants, with costs.

INVERCARGILL, March 6, In the Supreme Court to-day a divorce case, Robert Westfield v. Alice Westfield and Charles Wilson, a husband's petition on the ground of misconduct, was heard, Mr Justice Williams dismissed the petition, holding that, while the circumstances were eomewhat suspicious, the case had not been sufficiently proved.
