ADULTERATED MILK.

VENDORS PROSECUTED. (Per United PitEaa Association'.) AUCKLAND, September 5. At the Police Court Thomas. Colgan, a milk vendor, admitted selling milk containing -more water than is permitted under the-Sato of Foods and Drugs Act. He was lined .£5, with costs. William M'Felridgo was charged that on 21st July he sold milk containing mora water than is permitlcd by the act. Mr Stilling, who appeared for the defendant, raised the technical point that the case had l)cen brought on a couple of days before the summons was legally returnable. Thifi point being upheld, the charge was struck out, but a charge-' had been laid against Samuel M'l'etridge, son of the previous defendant, who bad been vending the milk from which the sample was ' taken by Inspector Young. The- man entered "a plea of guilty, and was fined £10, with 17s 6d costs. George Hannan, for selling milk containinfill small percentage of water, was fined £5, with 17s 6d costs.
