AUCKLAND MERCHANTS HINDICAPPED. (Fer United Press Askoctatioh.l AUCKLAND, June 30. A meeting of local merchants discussed the differential freights between Auckland and Gisborne and Wellington and Gishorne, it being claimed that Wellington merchants at present were afforded a great advantage. It was stated that Gisborne merchants were arranging to have their goods from England transhipped to Wellington instead of Auckland. A deputation was appointed to interview the Huddart-Parker and Union Steam Ship Companies, and ask for a,- reduction of freight between Auckland and Gisborne.
