■ CELEBRATIONS IN CHRISTCHURCH. iPkb UsiTF.n Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, June 29. The torchlight procession and water display part of the local Coronation celebrations, which could not take place last Thursday night owing to the inclemency of the weather, took plaoe this evening in fine, calm weather. The majority of the illuminations on tho public and private buildings were lit, and owing to tho calmness the gas designs were seen to greater advantage than was the Rise last Thursday. Very large crowds perambulated tile streets and watched' the procession, which consisted of members of the fire brigade with a fire-fighting plant and several bands, and which inarched through the principal streets and finished at Victoria Square, where a very fine illuminated water display was given. This was "watched by a very large gathering. The proceedings were enlivened by selections by the bancjs and by antics of a Darktown brigade.
