T-ho North Dunedin Scouts, under Chief Scoutmaster Carr, met in tho Albany street gynmoeium, on Friday, week. There waa a record attendance. The work-of the evening comprised ' signalling, deduction, ambulance, mapping, >tretcher and knotting work. The sooutmasters and officer in charge of contemplate a spccial effort toward securing lads 01-14 14 years and upwards, with a view t<! forming a scout oadet troop.'

On Wednesday night, ,at their, headquarters, St. Mary's Hall, the Mornington bcoutf Uadats held an excellent parade, there being only two absentees. Tho troop was exercised' in the naw drill formation, tenderfoot work, pignalling and bandaging, finishing up with -physical exercises. There are vacanoies for about a «ozen bays in this troop, and applications ■may bo made any Wednesday between 7.30 and 8.30 p.m. No. 2 Troop met on Taiwa. Hill, on Friday week, 'the signalling being very satisfactory. Signalling with lamps war. carried out, and a good standard of efficiency in both reading and sending ■was obtained. This troop is. specialising in Morse signalling, with lamps, flags, and sound, and field telegraph and telephone work.. To-day the combined troops _ will ■ parade at Tanna Hill, opposite the Univer- ,■ sity, at 2 p.m. sharp, prior to proceeding' to Signal Hill,' where the work of build-; ing an electrical station is being pushed on with nil speed.
