An important monarchist conspiracy has been ■ discovered with its centre in Oporto. There are several regiments to whom the Monarchist leaders promised speedy promotion if the rising proved successful and life pensions if it failed. The plans included the capture and assassination of the Republican soldiers. The rising was timed for April 4, but the Government is energetically repressing it.
