LONDON, March 23. (Received Miuch 23, at, 9.10 p.m.)
Serious rioting ha.s occurred at the Cambrian Combines colliery at Clydach Vale.
At a mass meeting the miners condemned the executive for arranging a ballot upon the masters' terms. •
Because the British Miners' Federation threatened to stop the strike-pay the strikers, including, a number of women, marched to the mine and took possession of the hill. They rolled boulders into the colliery and tried to set fire to some ricks.
The police made several charges armed, with batons. They were repulsed by stones, but finally, by a flank attack, they dislodged the rioters, who fled. At Ton-y-pandy many people were injured, and two members of tlie police were seriously hurt.
