Tho Right Hon. Sir Charles Wentworth Dilke M.P., is doad, in his sixty-eighth yoax.
Sir Charles returned from Hyeres on Saturday, and had been confined to his bed since.

The death of tho Rev. Dr John Brown Paton, principal of the Congregational Institute at Nottingham, is announced. .
Dr Paton was 81 years of age, and his parents were natives of Ayrshire. From the London Parish School his educational progress was rapid. 110 graduated B.A. at 19 years, and in tho following year was Hebrew and Now Testament prize man.' Four years later ho graduated M.A. in classics alnd was gold medallist in philosophy. In 1881 ho was mado honorary L'.D. by Glasgow University. Tho list of his activities would be too longthv for reproduction. He was joint editor of tho Eclectic Review, and for six years associate editor of the Contemporary Review. lie assisted the university extension movement, smd was promoter or member of a host of Institutions. Ho was Emeritus Principal of Jhe Congregational Institute for Theological and Missionary Studies, ami was a voluminous writer on theological subjects.
