EUGENICS EDUCATION SOCIETY.
The first meeting of the newly-olookd council of tho New Zealand Eugenics Education Society (to be affiliated with tho London' Society) was' held oil Tuesday aftornoon, at tho Nurses' Club Rooms. Ihero wove present Revs. Canon CurzonSiggcre and G. Knowles Smith, Professor Benham, Drs Battgate, M, Macdonalxl. Sicdetwrg, and Will, Messrs H. D. Bedford, ( 0. Flamank fho acting secretary, and mi J" Gri,lli "'o. .the chair). The of ofiicers, which in every caso was unanimous, reacted as follows:— President, Professor Benham; vicc-presi-dents, Rev. Canon Ourzon-Siggers, Dr 'My Siedteberg, Mt A. 11. Grading; hon. troasurer, Mr H. D. Bedford; hon. secretary and collector. Miss Macgeorge. The Hon. Dr J. G. Findlay, as has been already announced, haS readily consented to 6tand as hon/ president of the New Zealand Society. ...
A large amount of initial business was transacted, and several suggested methods of working considered, The .secretary will be pleased to'communicate with any interested in this work, which has been wel' expressed by one of our own legislators as "getting at tho tap-root of a great diffi cultj, rather than whittling away at the branches."
It is hoped tint blanches of tiie society ivill qcickly multiply throughout New Zealand. the need for its work being keen!? reeogniexl on every hand..
