INQUIRIES FROM NEW ZEALAND. Press Asscciation—By Telegraph—Copyright. MELBOURNE, August 30. (Received August 3i), at 11.10 p.m.) Mr Batchelor has received a letter from Sir J. G. Ward in regard to the Radiotelegraph Conference held in Melbourne last year. Sir J ,G. Ward says the New Zealand Government views the proposal with much interest, and is desirous of promoting it. It is proposed to ask for funus iof stations in New Zealand and for a proportionate share of the Fiji station.- Wireless communication is considered by the Government to be especially important in regard to facilitating the movements of the navy as well as of the mercantile marine. The letter. mentions that tenders are being called in New Zealand with a view of ascertaining the cost of establishing a station.
