. THE SEASON'S PROSPECTS. (Per United Passs Association.) EKETAHUNA. August 30. At the annual meeting of the Now Zea:laud Farmors' Dairy Union to-day the Chairman quoted figures to show that tho union, would soon havo paid off all tho borrowed money. Since 1896 (be output had more than 'trebled, while the interest aiid working expenses had only increased by about 25 per cent. Tho suppliers received IOJd for butter-fat this season, which was tho highest yet paid by tho union. They had increased the production this year by 134 tons'of butter and 116 tons of cHeese. The pasteurisers installed would enable them to produce better calves, and there would be less disease in pigs. The disposal of tho Dominion's produce should bo placed in the hands of a few good firms, who could regulate the priro, and he .favoured a commissioner, as in Denmark, to regulate local saJctt according to the supply and demand. The prospects for the. season Jiad never before been so good. A 5 ]x>r cent, dividond was paid, and tfic balance carried forward.
