After a considerable amount of tion, a forward move has been made in the direction of/arriving at a settlement of the dispute bet-ween the Canterbury Shcepowners' Industrial Union of Employers. find the Canterbury Branch of the Shearers' Union. Mr J. R. Triggs (Conciliation Commissioner for Canterbury and Otago) has received a communication from the Minister of Labour agreeing t-o Mr Trigg's suggestion that the three Conciliation Commissioners of the Dominion (Messrs Hally, Giles, ana Triggs) shall take evidence in the dispute and forward it to the Arbitration Court for that tribunal to base its award upon. Representatives of both parties to the dispute have signed • an undertaking to abide liy the award of , the court in the matter. The Conciliation Commissioners will sit in Christchurch to take evidence on September 13. DEMANDS BY THE MASTER-TON SHEARERS. (Per United Press Association.) MASTERTON, August 29.
