Mr John Roberts, C.M.G., returned to Dunedin from Wellington by the' second express yesterday. Mr A. J. Talbot, assistant officer in charge of tho Dunedin Telegraph Office, leaves for Auckland this morning. The object of his visit is to introduce .the new telegraph forms, which havo been found so convenient and economical lierc. Mr Scott, employers' representative on the Arbitration Court, leaves Dunedin for Wellington this morning to attend a 'sitting of the Court to bo held therj on Monday.

A Napier message says the .death occurred yesterday of Mi John Kinross Goudv, formerly manager of the Napier branch of Dalgoty and Co.,- in.his 60th year. Our .Cromwell conreripondent telegraphs slating that Mr Thos. M'Nulty, one of thy earliest arrivals of tile younger generation of the old goldfiolds days, passed' away yesterday morning, at the ago of 56 years. Ho arrived at Cromwell with his parents in the early sixties. Much sympathy is felt for. his wife, who is left with nine, young children.

Mr Geo. Cruickshank, who recently retired from the position of inspector to the Waihemo County Council, was mado the recipient ' of a presentation by the employees of the council on Saturday evening last (reports the Palmerston Times). The presentation took place at Mr Galloway's residence, and all the employees, with the exception of Mr Nicholson, who forwarded an apoilogy for non-attendance, were .present. In presenting Mr Cruickshank with, a handsome silver-mounted walking stick Mr Gallowaj referred to tho good feeling' that had always existed between the late inspector and the employees •of the coancil.

The gift presented was a handsome and well-stocked : dressing-ease, bearing the following inscription;—" Presented, to- Scott Symington, \ Esq., by tho officers and clerical staff of \ the Uhristchurch Tramway Bo?.rd on hii i leaving Clwistchurch, June .9, 1910."
