ASSISTANCE FOR SETTLERS.

(Peb Ukited Peess 'Association.) NAPIER, June 10. It was reported to the Hawke's Bay Land Board to-day that the recent floods in the Poverty Bay district had done damage to the total amount of £3679 011 various settlements, 73. settlers being affected. It was resolved that the ■To Arai settlers who had suffered and 0110 settler on the Willows Settlement be recommended to the Minister for assistance to the extent.ot 50 per cent., and other sufferers to the extent of 25 .per cent, of the amount 'of damage done to their respective holdings.
