ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. (Pes United Press Assouutiuh.) •CHRISTCHDRCH, March 16. At the Addington yards 10-day there was a largo entry of all classes of slock, and there was a gocd attendance. Store sheep met with a good sale, and fat lambs were firm/ tegs showing a rise. Fat cattle were without change, and pigs were (lull of sale. Fat sheep showed a rise in price. Store cattle 'were dull of sale, and dairy cows wore in moderate demand.' The yarding of store sheep was not quite as large as.was-the case last week, and' the oltorihgs were mostly of backward sorts. There was a keener demand tor ewes, and they sold at an advance of Is per head, while rape lambs were down a similar amount. Uliero was no' change in wethers. Two-tooth ewes made 14s to 16s 6d; four-tooth, 13s to 17s; and soundmou,hed, 10s 9d to 15s; forward wethers, 13s to R«; others, 8s lid to lis 6d; forward lambs, lis to 12s 2d; othens,.7s 8d lo 10s W. - There was again a largo yarding of fat lambs, totalling 8149 head,- and including 6omo good lines of tegs. There .was also a proportion of inferior and unfinished lambs. There was a keen demand for all well-finished lots, and tegs showed an advance of about 3d to 6d per head.. ■ There was a fairly large yarding of fat sheep, the greater portion being ewes. There was a good demand for all descriptions, and prices were firmer all round. Tho range of prices was:—Prime wethers, 15s 3d to 18s 2d; lighter, 13s 3d to 15s; prime ewes, 12s 6d to 16s lid; others, 10s 6d to 12s; merino ewns, 8s Id to 8s 7d. .The entry of fat cattle totalled 280 head, which wore mostly sent in by dealers. Heifer beef was in rather bettor demand, but on tho whole there was little or no change in values; . Steers realised £6 17s 6d to £11 ss; heifers, £5 5s to £7 17s 6d and cows. £4 2s to,£B 15s-equal to 19s 6d tc 22s' 6d for prime, 18s to 19s for. medium, and 15s 6d to 17s 6d for cow and inferior per 1001b. Veal calves made from 3s 6d to 525, and up to £3 16s for extra large. * There was.a large entry of 6toro cattle, but they met with a slow sale. Eighteen months old sorts made 20s to 335, and three-year-old stores sold.up to £5 15s. Dairy cows made £3 8s to £9 15s. Tlvsvo was a. largo entry of pigs, and they met with .a dull sale throughout.
