In tho Dominion House of Commons Mr Forstor raised a debate upon the United States luring seven warships on the Great Lakes, in violation of tho ircaiy of 1817. Canada, was at the mercy of llvifi formidable force. Sir Wilfrid Laurier deprecated the discussion in view of the correspondence now prooeoding, but he admitted there was cause for anxiety in the situation due to the individual American States bordering on the lakes clamouring for a shore in tho military expenditure.
