A Royal Proclamation, which lias been issued, makes the Union of South Africa effective on and after tho 31st of May next.

The.Wine and Spirit Association and the Wholesale Tobacconists' Protection Association 'have agreed to pay the now Cape Colony duties during the interregnum.
