TIIE CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING. The New Zealand boxing championships will be held in His Majesty's Theatre, Dunedin, on Thursday and Fridav evenings, and local followers of boxing will have an opportunity of seeing tils Dominion's most scientific boxers in action. Never before, in the history of the ring in New Zealand, .has the numbor of the entries been so great, and the quality of the hosing will be on a high plane. ' All tho affiliated Boxing Associations will have representatives competing, and Auckland, Wellington, Canterbury, Southland, anil Otago will have a competitor in each class. Six New Zealand championsh.'ips will bo competed for—via., Bantam, Feather, Light, Welter, Middle, and Heavy-weight, and the winner in each section will bo sent to Sydney to represent New Zealand at the Australasian championships. Tho Heavyweight contests will produce tho beat boxing in this ekwj ever witnessed in Diuiediu, ami the Otago men have a groat clianco Of -scoring. In tho Feather-weight division Auckland, Napier, Wellington, West Coast, Canktkiry. TLmau-u, Southland, and Otago are all confident of winning, and it is im-pos-iblo to pick the winner, as so many first-class nroa are engaged. In addition to the Otago representatives already published, J. Fulton lias been added to the Light-weight class. Mr R, Cook, of Timaru, will referee tho bouts, and the judges will be Messrs C.
