CITY LICENSING COMMITTEE.

The quarterly meeting of the City .Licensing Coiiunifteo, held yeslorday. was attended by Mr H. V". Wkidowson, S.M., chairman. Messrs J. Brailhwaite, W Burnett, and J. A ride. John l.?oss applied for a transfer of ffid license of the Metropolian Hotel, Maelaggau street, to Thomas James Grailt, Mr Hay appearing in support of the application. Mr Hay said there was an application lodged to waiver, and explained that, circumstances had prevented the possibility of giving the 21 days' notice of the application for transfer. The Chairman pointed out that there had been neither "omission" nor "neglect," and (he temporary transfer 111 existence was allowed to continue, the application for the transfer to stand over until the June meeting. The Chairman remarked that tho report on the hotels as a. whole was good, the police having 110 objections to make. This was all tho business.
